Re NYTimes article about director John Ford’s movies – often with John Wayne as hero.

  • Seattle, Washington

John Wayne said cowboys didn’t steal land from the Indians “because they were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.”
What a guy.                                                                                                                                     Wayne role-modeled battlefield heroism – becoming an influence to get young men to see their manhood in going to war.                                                                                                        He avoided serving in World War II.

Like Limbaugh, Cheney, and so many other right-wing warmongers, Wayne never put himself in the line of fire.  This is while calling coward and traitor of the young people who conscientiously protested America’s War in Vietnam.

America has it’s heroes.                                                                                                                   99% of them aren’t behind a gun or in front of a camera.
