On the 50th anniversary of Marilyn’s death.

  • Seattle, Washington

I think one of the reasons Marilyn Monroe has endured is that she couldn’t act.
In Marilyn’s films, the lines she speaks, no matter how well-delivered, never camouflage her insecurity and vulnerability.  She was never believed to be anyone other than herself.
Marilyn was without cunning or bitchiness – she was too within her own pain to try to hurt others.
Along with breath-taking beauty and sex-appeal, Marilyn Monroe had the innocence of a child.
That innocence is timeless and is why we still love her.
