I cannot express the depth of my contempt for elected officials who, to sustain their electability, vote against something they know would save lives.
Unfortunately, that’s true of the majority of lawmakers. They cast votes for wars they know to be wrong, against environmental protections they know to be needed, against medical care for the poor.
They care about and consider their careers before anything else.
Along with their corruption is soul-deep cowardice. It’s one thing to protect their own skin without harming others. It’s another thing to cover their career bases while knowing the damage their actions are inflicting on others.
They are unspeakable.
