Regarding the Mormon church’s refusal to ordain women.

Seattle Pending Approval

Because of the high degree of their political involvement, I cannot think of a rational reason for churches in America to retain tax-exempt status.

Churches having tax-exempt status is more than letting the other guy doing the fighting while the first guy holds his coat. This is actually a situation where after the fight, the coat-holder refuses to return the coat.

Politically active churches convince their flocks to trust the church enough to follow their churches’ political directions. Often, the church’s political positions do not serve the interests of their flock.

It’s a valid analogy followed by rock-hard truth.
